Week 3

Ways to Care for God’s Creation

Throughout the summer we’re going to give you some suggestions for ways that you can better help to take care of the beautiful world that God gave us.

Week 3 – Dry Your Clothes Outside

We want to get this one in while there is still plenty of warm weather left this summer!

Drying your clothes on a clothesline may seem old fashioned, but it’s good for the earth, good for your clothes and good for your wallet.

Did you know?

  • Your clothes dryer is one of the most energy consuming appliances in your home. Drying clothes outside will save energy and carbon emissions that come from using a dryer and it will also save you money on your electric bill.
  • The sun’s UV rays actually help to disinfect your laundry. The sun’s rays also help with stain removal and can make your clothes brighter and smell great!
  • Air drying clothes helps to reduce wrinkles.
  • Air drying is gentler on your clothes. All the lint you remove from your dryer is part of the fabric that gets rubbed away from the heat. This doesn’t happen when you air dry your clothes.
