This is a collection of the carols and hymns for the Christmas Season from several generations and a varitey of musical traditions. They’ve been arranged for keyboard and digitally orchestrated.
Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening is a familiar and ever-delightful poem by Robert Frost. My sixth grade teacher made us memorize it. Thank you Miss Handt.
The final two songs are dedicated to our daughter, April. Eighteenth Spring is a combination of the two original compositions. The first of them I wrote 40 years ago. It has the feel of a traditional folksong. The second them (based on the same chord progression) was written for April in 2008. Her melody and mine are intertwined in the third verse.
The words for We Will Love You are an adaptation of a poem, A Valentine to My Child by Daniel Houghton. It was first performed at April’s one year memorial service April 5, 2009.
